Do I need an account to use Gingerguide?

No. Gingerguide works without any sign-up or login — just open the app and start exploring.

Why does Gingerguide ask for my location?

Your location is used on your device to show attractions near you on the map and to alert you when you approach a point of interest. Granting background location lets these proximity alerts work even when the app isn’t open. You can change or revoke location access anytime in your device Settings; your location is not sent to us or stored on our servers.

How does the AI guide work?

When you ask the AI guide a question about a place, your question and the name of that place are sent to our secure backend, which uses Google’s Gemini service to generate an answer. Please avoid including personal information in your questions. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do subscriptions and offline downloads work?

Gingerguide offers an optional premium subscription that unlocks full point-of-interest guides and offline city downloads, so you can use tours without a connection. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and can be managed or cancelled anytime under Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. If you have a redemption code, you can enter it in the app to unlock premium access.

What data does the app collect?

Anonymous usage and diagnostic analytics to help us improve the app, plus your subscription status to unlock premium features. We do not collect your name, email, or precise location. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

How do I request deletion of my data?

See our Delete Your Data page for full instructions, or email us at ozalpege243@gmail.com and we will handle your request in line with applicable privacy laws.

The app isn’t working correctly. What should I do?

First try closing and reopening the app, and make sure you’re on the latest version from the App Store. If the problem continues, email us with a short description and we’ll look into it.
