About Confiserie Sprüngli
Zurich's most beloved confectionery institution since 1836, famous for its melt-in-the-mouth Luxemburgerli macarons and the finest Swiss chocolate truffles.
Confiserie Sprüngli is the most prestigious confectionery establishment in Zurich, some would say in all of Switzerland, founded in 1836, it has occupied its prime position on Paradeplatz since 1859. Founded by David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann, the company has remained in the Sprüngli family for nearly two centuries. The signature creation is the Luxemburgerli, a delicate cream-filled macaron that is smaller, softer, and more ephemeral than the French version, with a notably shorter shelf life that ensures each batch is absolutely fresh. Available in dozens of flavours, they have become one of the defining culinary souvenirs of Zurich. The chocolate counter offers an extraordinary selection of truffles, pralines, and seasonal specialities made to the highest standards of Swiss chocolate craft. The tea room on the first floor, with its period décor and formal service, is a quintessential Zurich institution for afternoon cake and hot chocolate. The company is related to but separate from Lindt, the family business split in 1892 when the Sprüngli sons divided it; the chocolate-factory branch became Lindt & Sprüngli, while the confiserie branch remained independent.
Did you know? The Sprüngli family business split in 1892, the chocolate-factory branch became Lindt & Sprüngli, while the other remained independent as the Confiserie Sprüngli we know today.
