About Lagavulin Distillery

One of the most revered Islay distilleries, producing intensely smoky, peaty whisky on the rugged southern coast.

Lagavulin Distillery sits on a beautiful bay on the south coast of Islay, the most southerly of the Inner Hebrides. Founded in 1816, though illicit distilling on the site dates back to at least 1742, Lagavulin produces one of the most intensely peated and smoky single malts in Scotland. The 16-year-old expression, with its rich, complex character of peat smoke, dried fruit, and sea salt, is considered one of the greatest whiskies in the world.

Did you know? Lagavulin 16 became famous in America as the favourite whisky of Ron Swanson in "Parks and Recreation."
