About Las Ramblas
Barcelona's most famous promenade, a 1.2-kilometre tree-lined pedestrian boulevard connecting Plaça de Catalunya to the sea, lined with flower stalls, cafes, street performers, and the pulse of the city.
Las Ramblas is the most famous street in Barcelona and arguably the most celebrated promenade in Spain, a broad, tree-shaded pedestrian boulevard that runs 1.2 kilometres from the Plaça de Catalunya down to the Columbus Monument and the sea. The street is actually composed of five different ramblas (each with its own name), flowing seamlessly into one another through the old city. Its central pedestrian walkway is flanked by the famous flower stalls, bird sellers, and newspaper kiosks that have defined the street's character for over a century. The side streets off Las Ramblas lead to the Gothic Quarter on one side and the Raval neighbourhood on the other, while the street itself is lined with cafes, restaurants, and the grand Hotel España.
Did you know? Las Ramblas is actually five different streets joined together, each with its own name, the most famous stretch is the Rambla de les Flors, known for its flower stalls.
